UN, OIC must help Palestinians: seminar

Speakers from various organisations demanded the United Nations, Organisation of Islamic Countries and Common Wealth on Saturday to intensify their efforts for the settlement of Palestinian and Kashmir disputes, saying the siege of Gaza strip should be brought to an end on an immediate basis.
The Palestinian Foundation Pakistan organised a seminar on ‘Gaza under Siege’ to demonstrate solidarity with the Palestinian people and the disdain towards usurper Israeli state at the Nation Press Club.
The seminar, attended by a large number of political workers, students, intellectuals and minority organizations members, passed a unanimous organization demanding that the violence and bloodshed of innocent Palestinians and the blockade of Gaza strip be lifted within no time.
The resolution warned that the international resistance movement in case of failure to end Gaza siege would be launched across the Muslim world at large.
Addressing and chairing the seminar, senior leader of the Awami National Party Senator Hajji Adeel said the prospects of the Palestine freedom have become imminent owing to the rising tide of awareness and political change in Middle East and Arab countries. He further maintained that in the recent months the resolution passed by the Senate was also a evident testimony to the freedom struggle for Palestine.
The convener of the World Minority Alliance Julius Salik said that the Palestinian dispute was a national problem and assured the full support of the minority organizations members for the emancipation of Palestinians and the end of Gaza besiege.
The chairman of the Third World Solidarity Mushtaq Lashari said that the dispute of Palestine including Kashmir dispute were at the root cause of terrorism and extremism. He further said that the problem of Palestinian conflict must be resolved on priority basis to materialize lasting peace and harmony in the world.
The chairman of National Youth Conference and Mohsin-i-Pakistan Foundation Mohammad Abdullah Gull said that the issue of Palestine was the flash point of world. He demanded that the Palestinian problem should be settled immediately and the United Nations, OIC and Common Wealth are supposed to play their increased role for freedom of Palestinians.
