The weather in Lahore is expected to remain cold and dry on Saturday (today) while the skies would be covered partly with light clouds after a clear and sunny day. The metrological department predicted that similar weather was likely to prevail elsewhere in the country, however isolated rain and snowfall over the hills may occur in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Malakand, Gujranwala, Lahore, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan during night or in the early morning.
The meteorologists said that foggy conditions would prevail in the plain areas of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the Sukkar division. A fresh western disturbance would affect southwestern parts of Balochistan from Saturday and would extend to upper parts of the country on Sunday. The new weather system was likely to last for 2 to 3 days. On Friday, the lowest temperatures were recorded in Kalam, where the mercury fell down to -16 degree Celsius, while in Skardu and Parachinar it remained at -13 degree Celsius.
