Rumour has it that there was some debate on who should drive Prime Minister Gilani to the court premises on Thursday.
There was the official chauffeur and many political drivers, all too willing to take on the symbolic duty besides the fact they are also adept at handling range rovers.
It was at this point that the Prime Minister put his foot down and decided that he would drive his own car himself. The lesson of the story? I am in the driving seat. I am in control. I am definitely my own man. Well tell that to the judges and of course the president.

We hear that there were so many requests to the Registrar, Supreme Court for a seat in the visitors’ gallery of the court on the day of the PM appearance that even King Khan would have been proud to get such a response for a Bollywood premier.
Of course, it is not known whether the crowd wanted to witness a tragedy or a comedy or simply more song and dance. However, everyone did note that the Attorney General was unaware of the excitement around him. When the PM walked into court, the AG was seen dozing away in his seat, oblivious of the charged energy around him.

Word has it that residents of Muslim Town had been lobbying their MPA for some time to get their dilapidated Ayub Park looking like a park. Delegation after delegation of local notables knocked on his door to activate him on this front. Their joy knew no bounds when they learnt that the MPA had gotten two and a half crores sanctioned for the job.
However, two years later there was no work on the ground and the MPA was also unavailable. The residents decided they had to do something about it and they did but this time on a self-help basis. Though not exactly a tourist attraction, Ayub Park now looked presentable.
But on Thursday, residents were surprised to find a banner in the park thanking the MPA for restoring the park. Not surprisingly, the angry residents ripped the banner apart and started chanting “Where is the two and half crores? What have you done with it?” What, indeed?
