Former Australia cricketer Dav Whatmore met Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman and other officials on Monday to finalise his terms and conditions of the coaching job. PCB chairman Zaka Ashraf and other officials met with Whatmore after which it is expected that a decision on the new coach will be made. Other PCB officials including COO, Director Game Development and Director Coordination were also present in the meeting. However, Whatmore has expressed willingness to take over as the chief coach of the team. “I am ready to coach the Pakistan team but things have yet to take final shape. I am hopeful that all will be positive,” he added. “Pakistan is one of the strongest teams having great potential to beat any opposition and coaching them would be a pleasure for me. Pakistan team is one of the best sides of the world at the UAE and it will be very interesting and thrilling competition,” Whatmore added. He was also full of praise for Lahore and said that he had a wonderful time in the city. Whatmore also hoped to see the Pakistan team reach the number one spot and if he was selected as the coach of the team his priority would be to get the team to the top.
