AIOU admissions to begin from 23rd

The Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) will start its admissions of matriculation to MA/MSc programmes for Spring Semester 2012 from January 23 across the country, said Admissions Director Syed Zia-ul-Hasnain Naqvi. Naqvi said admission forms and prospectuses for all programmes being offered in Spring Semester 2012 could be obtained from the sale points at the main campus, regional campuses and coordinating offices all over the country. According to the director admissions, MSc is being offered in mass communication, environmental design, mathematics, sociology, physics, statistics, chemistry and forestry extension.
Admissions are also being offered to MBA, M.Com, 4-year BS programmes in microbiology and chemistry, commonwealth of learning NBA/MPA, MA in distance & non-formal education, secondary teacher education, educational planning & management, special education, library & information sciences and teaching of english as a foreign language (TEFL) while M.Ed in distance, non-formal and continuing education, secondary teacher’s education, science education and special education.
Admissions are also being offered in postgraduate diploma, environmental design, educational planning and management, mass communication, teaching english as a foreign language (TEFL), computer science and youth in development work.
BA, B.Com, BLIS and mass communication are included in bachelor programmes while ATTC and PTC are being offered in teachers’ training programme.
FA, I.Com, FSc (pre-engineering), FSc (pre-medical), matric, dars-e-nizami, certificate courses (6-month duration), agricultural courses (6-month duration), open tech courses and short terms educational programmes would also be offered in Spring Semester 2012 which would be started from 23rd January.
Director Admissions Syed Zia-ul-Hasnain further said that admission forms were being sent to the continuing students, however, if any student failed to receive the form till 30th January, he/she could download the same from the AIOU website www.aiou.edu.pk or obtain it from the nearest regional/coordination office of the university and deposit the same in any designated bank branch by entering roll numbers/registration numbers and mobile numbers with fees till due date to avoid late fee charges.
