Information Minister Firdous Ashiq Awan on Sunday said that people dreaming of a clash between state institutions would be disappointed. Talking to prominent local figures, she said the political maturity of the masses had increased and in the next elections they would reject all those politicians who had changed their political loyalties. She urged all political parties to sit together and indicate the flaws in the political system in consultation with the government. She said the parliament’s supremacy would strengthen other institutions.
Awan asked the media to play a positive role and offer constructive criticism to help the government evolve better strategies for economic development and public welfare. She said that several development and welfare projects worth Rs 1.20 trillion were underway, and development schemes were also being initiated in the constituencies of opposition members.
