All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) chief and former military ruler Gen (r) Pervez Musharraf has hoped that he would be acquitted after two to three court hearings after coming to the country on 25th or 27th of this month.
Speaking at an event late on Thursday, he said all cases against him were registered on political basis, adding that he was not held accused by any court under any article of the constitution.
“The court issued arrest warrants against me due to my failure to appear before the court in Benazir Bhutto and Akbar Bugti murder cases,” he said. Musharraf said he would face all cases registered against him in the country and according to the law, he hoped that he would be acquitted after two or three court hearing.
The former military ruler said that putting his life on risk he would land in Pakistan on January 25 or 27, adding that he would resolve all crises faced by the country and the people. He said he would again pave the way for development in the country.
Musharraf claimed that about 500 to 600 people from all over the world would accompany him on his return, adding that he was ready to face the courts.
He said he had always played with danger in his life and he had practically played with death in the battleground during his army services, but had never been afraid.
“I would return to Pakistan because people of the country need me in these critical times,” he said.
He said he wanted to return to Pakistan one-and-a-half years ago, but his party was not formed at that time and he wanted to resolve the crises facing the country under one platform.
The former military ruler said the masses were supporting and waiting for him in Pakistan, while a handful of people were not supporting him. Musharraf said the power of the people was with him.
“I will come to power through the power of masses, not with the help of any foreign power, the ISI or army,” he added.
To a question, Musharraf said two major political parties had completely failed to serve the masses, due to which the people were joining and supporting PTI chief Imran Khan as a third option.
He said state institutions had been destroyed due to wrong policies of the current democratic government, adding that rich people were fleeing from the country and the poor were left to face problems.
“I am not a common man, I receive full protocol everywhere in the world whenever I visit any foreign country,” said Musharraf, adding that he would contact those countries for strengthening the economy of Pakistan when he came to power.
He said he would go back from Pakistan if the people did not support him.
Ex. President Musharraf while speaking in Dubai has very rightly said that a small faction of people and some journalist are making false propaganda against him, and other wise a large section of silent crowd is waiting for his return to Pakistan, the cases made against him are purely on political rivalry basis which have have no weight at all these case will inshallah be set a side in one or two heaings. The return of this great leader of Asia will help Pakistan to move forward in the right direction because the polices made by him were largly aploded and which earned Pakistan a good name in the world. The personality of the Ex President is such that he can convience the international community to come forward to help Pakistan and make this country a prosperous nation. His arrival in Pakistan is widely awaited and the media will see that a warm welcome is given to this great man.
we have better option than you that is ik.you are dictator. we do not need you.
I totally agree with Mr. Anwwer Zaidi. Musharraf was a great leader and it was only who led Pakistan and our nation (which I think is a bunch of ungrateful fools, remember the joy people expressed when Musharraf resigned) through toughest of times. My opinion is that the biggest crises Pakistan faced in recent history was that of ABDUL QADEER KHAN/ NUCLEAR PROLIFERATION EPISODE.It was only Musharraf who handled this situation so calmly that very real and looming threats over our nuclear programme was not only neutralized but MR AQK was also not handed over to America despite all the pressure. Hats off the Pervaiz Musharraf and eagerly waiting for him. GOOD LUCK.
Musharraf was a better dictator than elected government. We were better off with him.
I respect your judgement, but I equally feel sorry for you if you think that we are better off ,then its you wish.
Good luck to you brother
Indeed, we need him to get the country out of this economic rut. To get our pride and esteem back, to say goodbye to these democratic dictators presently in power.
O YES, for sure Musharaf was far better than any of these democratically elected
blood suckers. Its a pity very few understand.
Our best wishes are with him and will remain so forever.
