Word has it that having realised his political ambitions Dr? Babar Awan has decided that actually he wants to be a celebrity who attracts the media like a magnet and lives in the hearts of the people. Hence, the dark glasses that look suspiciously like Shahrukh Khan’s in the promo of one of his recent movies. Not surprisingly, some black coats have started addressing him as Don Babar Awan.

They say the Lahore Gymkhana election, due next week, is as hotly contested as any general election. There are several elements that play a make-or-break role.
There is the bureaucrat panel affectionately known as the civil serpents and then there is the politicians group that adds the political partisan flavour, the chronic committee member junkies who are so addicted to the game that they cannot live and breathe without it. Then there are the card room politics and any one who has a grip on them is much sought after by contestants that is if he is not one himself.
There is the “Shoppe” and “Gymnasium” politics or rather scandals that keep surfacing periodically and “Catering” has actually cooked more scandals than meals in recent years. But each election brings a new issue and a new punching bag. This time it seems it is a civil serpent who has assumed an important role. We hear some body just got promoted from additional chief secretary, Punjab to the CM’s principle secretary and now he is being looked on as a king maker.

We hear that last week after a certain lady gate-crashed into the Punjab Assembly, the speaker interrogated the security staff. He learned that the gate-crasher came in a huge car and was accompanied by several body guards, she seemed important and then she said she was Mrs Hamza Shahbaz.
The security staff was severely reprimanded, warned but not sacked. We hear the special branch women squad that normally operates inside the assembly has now been posted outside as well.
Let’s see what disguise the lady adorns next.

I wish that in my life time i could see a Pakistani Newspaper or News/entertainment channel which does not have a reference to this Gentleman called Shahrukh Khan. I think Local media is so obsessive about Shahrukh Khan because he is a "BAD GUY" (WE LOVE BAD GUYS) something like working undercover for CIA and lives somewhere in Northwazirstan, please correct me if i am wrong and also let me know what exactly this guy do for his livelihood and if by chance he is not involved in any thing dirty then It would be highly appreciated if you could throw some light about this obsession.
I damn care what kind of glasses Mr. Awan wears and what lawyerscall him. I respect this gentleman because he says what he feels. And if Chief Justice is so annoyed by the press conference of federal ministers and have issued notices for contempt than he should also get some time out to watch endless TV talk shows where Senator Faisal Raza Aabdi is among guests and he openly challenges the CJ to issue a notice for contempt. CJ will also love to hear Mr. Aabdi,s remarks he openly expresses in these shows. I really doubt if CJ will call him because it really hurts when someone put forward your wrongdoings in front of lot of people. Wakeup CJ/Media and instead of settling personnel vendetta against certain personalities start performing your professional duties for which you have been given so much respect.
