Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) President Senator Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Senior Federal Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi separately called on President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani on Thursday and discussed the country’s political situation. In their meeting with Gilani, the Chaudhrys showed their commitment to continue cooperation with the federal government and strengthen democracy in the country, a press release from the PM’s House said. They also reiterated their resolve to mobilise public opinion through their respective platforms to uphold democracy in the country. Sources told Pakistan Today that the PML-Q leaders raised the issue of delay in release of development funds for PML-Q parliamentarians with the premier. “The PM assured the Chaudhrys that concerns of their party lawmakers would soon be addressed,” sources said.
