Police are still clueless about a 10-years-old boy, who had gone missing from the Mehmood Booti area on Monday, as the officials at Baghbanpura Police Station are silent after registering a FIR. As per details Zubair Ahmed left his home on Monday in order to attend his class at a nearby seminary Tanzeem-ul-Quran. But he did not return home, after over which his father searched for him in the locality. Victim’s father contacted the Baghbanpura Police but the officials’ response
was lethargic and asked him to search at his own. After failing to trace his missing son, the perturbed father managed in getting a report registered with Baghbanpura Police Station. He said though, he did not have any enmity with anyone; therefore, could not nominate anyone as suspects. He said police should have helped him in tracing his son. Even the police officials did not react timely or distributed pictures at different police stations.
INJURED MAN DIES AT HOSPITAL: A property dealer, who was shot injured by unknown robbers some 17 days ago in Riwaz Garden, succumbed to his injuries at Mayo Hospital on Wednesday. 45-year-old Agha Liaqat Ali, a resident of the Prem Nagar Raj Garh area, was shot injured by two unidentified motorcyclists on offering resistance during a robbery bid December 19, 2011.
Woman COMMITS SUICIDE: A mother of four committed suicide
after swallowing poisonous pills within the Liaqatabad Police Station’s precincts
on Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Sakeena Ashraf, resident of the Kot Lakhpat area. The police said Sakeena got involved in a clash with her husband over domestic issues. After exchange of harsh words, she was disheartened and swallowed poisonous pills due to which she went unconscious. She was rushed to the General Hospital where doctors pronounced her as dead.
Police after reaching the scene handed back the body of the deceased to her heirs after completing legal formalities.
BODY FOUND: The body of a 45-years-old unidentified man was found from the Factory Area Police Station’s precincts near the General Hospital.
Locals said it looked that the deceased was intoxicated.
SHOP GUTTED: Valuables worth thousands of rupees were reduced ashes when fire erupted at a sweet shop in Ayubia Market Muslim Town. The shop, owned by Arshad located in Ayubia Market, was gutted due to short circuit.
Locals informed the rescue officials, who managed to extinguish the fire.
THREE DRUG TRAFFICKERS KILLED IN RECENT MONTHS: Three drug traffickers were killed and 15 others were arrested by the Punjab Rangers in various armed encounters and special operations launched against the drug peddlers in the provincial capital and its surrounding areas during the recent few months.
During preliminary interrogation, the arrested men have confessed that the Borders Security Forces (BSF) of India was transporting drugs, liquor, automatic sophisticated firearms and unauthorised items in connivance with notorious smugglers and terrorists wanted in Pakistan.
Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) Commander on Wednesday awarded cash prizes to the Rangers personnel on showing marvellous performance. He said Rangers had seized 400 bottles of liquor, 15 kilogrammes of heroine, Indian tea, charras and packets of cigarette.
He said given the activities of Indian BSF, the Rangers had enhanced vigilance on border areas in order to foil any kind of untoward incident in future.
