Bomb attack kills soldier in N Waziristan

A roadside bomb killed a soldier in North Waziristan tribal region on Saturday.
Another soldier was injured when a motorcade of the security forces came under bomb attack in Datta Khle area of North Waziristan.
Reports said the Improvised Explosive Device was detonated through remote control when the convoy of the security forces was passing through the area.
The security forces imposed curfew in the area after the attack and also launched search operation to apprehend the perpetrators while no group claimed responsibility for the attack.
The government has a peace deal with the main Taliban group in North Waziristan led by Hafiz Gul Bahar, under which both sides will not attack each other.
Security sources say that there are splinter militant groups in North Waziristan who routinely carry out attacks on the security forces.
They say that fighters of Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) are also taking shelter in parts of North Waziristan, who have fled the neighbouring South Waziristan in the wake of major operation by the security forces in 2009.
The US is urging Pakistan to launch operation against the Taliban militants in North Waziristan, who are blamed for cross-border attacks into Afghanistan on the foreign and Afghan forces.
The CIA also claims that Afghan Taliban and remnants of al-Qaeda are also operating from North Waziristan.
