The US embassy in Kabul has rebuffed the report that Taliban chief Mullah Omer’s name was removed from the FBI’s most-wanted list, saying it never appeared on the list. A statement issued by the US embassy in Kabul and received here on Wednesday said Mullah Omar had never been listed on the most wanted terrorists’ list.
The statement added that some Afghan and international media reports erroneously alleged that his name was removed from the list. “We note that Mullah Omar has been and remains on the US Department of State’s Rewards for Justice List,” the US embassy statement said.
