Citizens have called for action against swelling business of quack dentists working in several areas of the garrison city.
A number of quacks are seen doing their businesses of extracting teeth in the areas such as Pori Pull, Bakar Mandi, Railway Road, Raja Bazar, Pir Wadhai, Sirsyed Chowk, Aria Mohalla, Faiz Abad, Dhok Cheragh Din and other vicinities.
They are illiterate people and even cannot write their names but are playing with the health of people under the garb of dentists.
“I got my tooth extracted from one of these quacks but I am now patient of hepatitis due to use of unsterilized equipment by that fake dentist. He also charged me heavily, said Hamesh Gul, a citizen.
“I was going somewhere when I spotted on Railway Road a group of these fake dentists sitting along the roadside. I was feeling pain in my teeth since long but my financial sources were not allowing me to consult any real dentist. I approached one of these quacks and he extracted my bad teeth and replaced them with artificial ones. But now I am getting treatment from a hospital as I have contracted hepatitis, said Sher Ali, a labourer.
The citizens have demanded of concerned authorities to launch an operation against these quacks soon so that the innocent people could be saved from them.
Drugs dealing plagues Sadiqabad : Narcotics sale in Sadiqabad continues unchecked by the city’s police.
Due to the negligence of the police, the drugs sales have soared in many areas, especially in Sadiqabad its adjacent localities, putting the youth at grave risk.
It has been discovered that the drug deals are conducted on cell phones and suppliers provide the drugs directly to the customers. No action has been taken against the drug suppliers due to which the business is flourishing and the youth is becoming increasingly vulnerable. This has caused serious concerns to the parents and families of these people.
The public and social sector has appealed to the government to take action against the drug dealers.
Vehicles weekly bazaar source of perpetual
nuisance: The weekly car bazaar creates traffic jams on Murree Road in Chandni Chowk and Rehman Abad.
Citizens complained they had experienced traffic jams daily due to the construction of the fly over but the vehicles bazaar aggravated the problem.
“This weekly bazaar is held on every Sunday near Chandni Chowk and Rehman Abad and now has become a source of perpetual nuisance for all of us as we can not travel along the road on our vehicles due to the sprawling lines of cars and other vehicles at Jumma Bazaar. Even pedestrians can not cross the road,” said Abdul Ghaffoor, a student.
Anwar, a small trader, said: “Due to the traffic jams, customers shy away from coming to our shops and we are suffering heavily in terms of our business.”
“Due to this Jumma bazaar, ambulances stand enmeshed in the immense traffic,” said Noor Ealhi, an ambulance driver.
Citizens have demanded that vehicles Jumma bazaar be banned on the Murree Road until the completion of the fly over at Chandni chowk.
