A woman was killed and more than 20 others injured when a truck carrying participants of a wedding party overturned due to over-speeding.
According to police, a Karorpakka bound truck coming from Bahawalpur with at least 30 people on board, who were returning after attending “Rasm-e-Hina”, went out of control of the driver near main Lodhran Town and overturned.
As a result of accident at least 23 people, including women and children, sustained injuries. The locals and rescue personnel arrived at the scene soon after the accident and started rescue operation.
The injured were shifted to District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) Lodhran, where a woman succumbed to her wounds.
Ten people with serious injuries were later referred to DHQ Bahawalpur.
