The Pakistani community residing in South Africa on Tuesday lodged a peaceful protest outside the United States Embassy located in Pretoria against the invasion of NATO Forces’ Salala Check Post killings. A press release issued by the South African Pakistani Community’s Chairman Muhammad Shabbir stated that dozens of men, women and children participated in the protest. Protesters carried banners and posters inscribed with various slogans against the NATO air-strikes.
They demanded that western powers respect the sovereignty of Pakistan under all circumstances. Protesters also submitted a memorandum to the officials of the US Embassy in order to remind them that Pakistan was an independent country.
