‘Fall Fest’ at Princeton University

Fall Fest 2011, a week-long festivity comprising several inter-university events and organised by the Preston University, kicked off in Islamabad on Monday. First event of the day was inter-university sports competition including cricket, badminton, table tennis and football tournaments. The mega event was formally inaugurated by Mr. Ahmad Yahya Khan, Director General Sports, Higher Education Commission (HEC).
Universities participating in the cricket tournament are: Bahria University, International Islamic University, Hamdard University ISRA University, Preston University Islamabad, Kohat and Lahore, COMWAVE Institute, Northern University and Quaid-i-Azam (QAU) University. The universities participating in table tennis are Women’s Institute of Science and Humanities (WISH), QAU, ISRA University, IIUI, Bahria University, Hamdard University, COMWAVE Institute and Islamabad and Kohat campuses of the Preston University.
In football tournament Bahria University, International Islamic University, Hamdard University, Preston University Islamabad, Northern University and Islamia College, Peshawar. In the second event, a Qirat Competition was held while the last programme was bilingual (English/Urdu) debate competition. The chancellor of Preston University, while addressing the students and distinguished guests, said the university organised inter-university competitions under the banner of “Spring Splash” and “Fall Fest” twice a year.
