Teachers’ training course concludes at UET

The National Academy of Higher Education’s 50th Professional Competency Enhancement Programme for Teachers (PCEPT) concluded at the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Taxila.
The PCEPT is a month-long in-service teachers’ training programme held at universities, and comprises seven modules spreading over 72 sessions. A team of qualified resource persons were invited to train 23 faculty members representing various disciplines of UET, Taxila, and surrounding universities, says a press release issued here by the HEC. HEC Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) Managing Director Dr Khawaja Azam Ali was the chief guest at the closing ceremony. In his address, he congratulated the participants, resource persons and organisers for successful completion of the programme.
He said that teachers were backbone of an institute and training of teachers was one of the most important components to improve quality of education. PCEPT University Coordinator Dr Rifat Asim Pasha elaborated the programme objectives and highlighted its major achievements. He appreciated the resource persons for sharing their expertise, adding that each session would ensure higher level of participation of the teachers.
The participants also expressed their views on usefulness of the PCEPT, saying it was extraordinary, motivational and fruitful professional development training. Dr. Mumtaz Ahmed Kamal, Acting Vice Chancellor, UET Taxila appreciated HEC for organizing teacher trainings and praised the appropriateness of the course. In the end, Dr. Khawaja Azam gave away certificates to the participants.
