A motorcyclist was run over by a truck at the KPT flyover in the jurisdiction of Korangi Industrial Area police station on Friday.
The victim, identified as Zaheer, was a resident of Gulzar-e-Hijri and a police constable deputed in the sub-division SP Shah Faisal.
The truck driver managed to escape from the scene along with vehicle.
In another accident, a motorcyclist was run over by a water tanker at Siemens Chowrangi in SITE. The identity of victim could not be ascertained till the filing of this report.
Similarly, a woman was hit by a minibus of route W-22 at Sakhi Hassan Chowrangi and died on the spot. The driver managed to escape along with vehicle.
In another case, a few men were injured when an over-speeding truck turned over at the KPT flyover.
ARRESTS: Security agencies arrested seven suspects conducting raids in different areas of Baldia Town on Friday and recovered weapons from their possession.
These areas included Yousuf Goth, Dawood Goth and Mazdor Goth. Seven TT pistols and two snatched motorcycles were recovered from the arrested men’s possession. Security forces had to cordon off these areas by blocking their entry and exit points, suspending vehicular traffic for hours, following which people staged a protest against the operation.
Separately, in a prison break, Saeed Khan escaped from the lockup of Khokhrapar police station during load shedding hours. Two on-duty police personnel were suspended over negligence.
Khan was nabbed by the police attempting a mobile snatching at a market.
