The local police are clueless about the miscreants who had intercepted and tried to kidnap a man from Parachinar while he was on his way to Daman-e-Koh. The man, Muhammad Akram was escaping persecution by his enemies back in Parachinar. He was stopped by some ‘masked men’ who according to him tried to kidnap him while he was travelling in his car. He said from their Pashto accent he could tell that they were also from Parachinar. “When the armed men were asking me to go with them to their vehicle, I resisted and screamed out loud and refused to leave my car.
Luckily, a school bus appeared and I ran towards it,” scared Muhammad Akbar, 36, and complained. A businessman by profession, Akbar said, they also hit his head with the butt end of a gun before fleeing. He feared they wanted to kidnap him for some ransom, which he said was a routine crime in Parachinar. Malik Asif, the investigation officer at the Kohsar police station, said they filed the report of the incident and police would investigate the matter.
