Former Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) ticket holder for MNA seat, from the NA 129 constituency, Malik Karmat Ali Khokher is joining Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf, Pakistan Today learnt on Monday. According to PTI sources, Malik Karamat Ali Khokher would make an official announcement in the presence of PTI Chairman Imran Khan, who is returning to the country today (Tuesday). Moreover, sources revealed that around 20 former PPP and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leaders would likely be joining PTI over the coming two weeks, including Khurshid Mahmood Qasoori, Ghulam Mustafa Khar and Sardar Asif Ahman Ali. Sources added that these PPP leaders would probably declare their affiliations at Imran Khan’s December 25 procession in Karachi.
Credence to PTI’s increasing success could be gauged from that former PPP leader Malik Karamat Ali Khokher from the Johar Town constituency would soon be announcing his intentions to join the party. The PTI chairman, who was visiting the UK to collect funds for a university in Mianwali, would return to the country today, when, it is expected, he would reveal his future plans. According to PTI sources, Khan would also visit the constituency of NA 129 where he would welcome Malik Karamat to his party and would also hold a press conference.
Earlier, Punjab PPP leaders had been denying Malik Karmat Khokher’s intentions to join PTI.
According to PTI sources, a group of PPP leaders and workers would meet with PTI at the residence of Malik Karamat Khokher, with the intention of joining the party.
Earlier, people were expecting former PPP general secretary Ghulam Abass to join PTI but Abass denied joining PTI in a press conference, while defending Malik Karamat Khokher’s plans.
Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Punjab Women’s Wing welcomed former ANP central vice president Neelam Shah to the party in a meeting arranged at her residence in Gulberg on Monday.
PTI Punjab Women’s Wing President Saloni Bokhari, notified Neelam as Coordination Punjab Women’s Wing Committee chairperson and said that PTI was being strengthened by the new members joining their ranks. “We are seeing many people enter our party, who are on a mission to change the existing status quo,” Saloni said.
She said PTI was determined to rebuild the nation and to see it take its rightful place in global politics, adding that any individual with the same ideology was welcome. She said those who presumed that PTI would compromise on its beliefs underestimated Chairman Imran Khan’s leadership and the unflinching commitment and dedication of every political worker of the party to the cause.
