The business community of Karachi has decided to stand by Businessmen Group chairman and former president of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) Siraj Kassam Teli and current KCCI President Mian Abrar Ahmad, who were served legal notices by the Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC).
In a statement issued by the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) on Saturday, the vice chairmen of the Businessmen Group and former presidents of the KCCI Tahir Khaliq, Zubair Motiwala, Haroon Farooki and Anjum Nisar and managing committee members of the KCCI said that the KESC’s legal notices served to Teli and Ahmad are in fact notices served to the whole business and industrial community of the city.
The business community leaders said that all statements and press releases issued by their leadership were with total consensus and approval of the entire business and industrial community of the city. “We stand by our leadership for all their acts and behaviours and we will fight and contest our case in the largest interest of the Karachi and the business and industrial community,” they said.
