Murderer of British journalist arrested

CIA Police arrested a person who they claimed had murdered a British newspaper’s, The London Times, journalist. The accused happened to be fast friends with the victim, Faisal Qureshi. Faisal was murdered at midnight on October 7, in mysterious conditions at his residence in Johar Town. Local police had registered the case against unknown assailants upon the deceased’s brother, Zahid Qureshi’s complaint. The elder brother of Faisal, Shahid, who is also journalist in Britian had speculated earlier that Faisal was targeted for some of his articles in London Times, one of which was about Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) leader Altaf Hussain fleeing to South Africa. CIA police interrogated his childhood friend, Faisal Hameed Qureshi, who was resident of Bund Road area. Police claimed the accused had admitted to killing his friend for money. The accused revealed upon interrogation that he had lent a bike from Ishtiaq Ahmad, which had been stolen from Jinnah Hospital. The owner of the bike demanded him to par Rs 50,000 against the stolen bike, but the accused could only arrange Rs 20,000. To obtain the rest of the money, he planned to kill his friend who was living alone. According to plan, he killed Faisal Qureshi in his home and escaped after stealing his laptop, mobile phones and wallet. The accused paid Rs 15,000 to bike owner by selling the mobile phones at various shops in Gumti Bazar and Yateem Khana, which CIA have recovered.
