President Asif Ali Zardari left for Dubai on Tuesday evening to visit his children and also to undergo some medical tests.
He was accompanied with his physicians and limited personal staff.
According to the president’s personal physician Col. Salman, the proposed medical tests are of routine nature and are linked to a previously diagnosed cardiovascular condition.
Spokesperson Farhatullah Babar said that contrary to media reports, the president did not visit any hospital for tests or treatment. Instead the president held separate meetings in the Presidency with Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani, Chairman Senate Farooq Naek and Interior Minister Rehman Malik to review the overall situation, security arrangements for Ashura and legislative business in Senate before leaving for Dubai.
How can we hope to have a decent medical service when everyone one in power opts to fly abroad for treatment. The amount spent on that little 'check up' could probably run a small rural health centre for a year.
Shame on you Mr. President and a slap in the face to every doctor in this land of ours.
This country isn't meant to serve its public, only its rulers. And the rulers won't bother spending money on fixing the health and other public service sectors HERE, when they can just save that money, put it in their pockets and go abroad for better services for a small fraction of the money.
Very very wise and sensible comments. Well done gents.
run away
Not like Nawaz Sharif who fled to Jedda
Surely it is not like running to jedda after October 12 , 1999
Hope it is a one way trip….
hope the bugger dies
Greater bugger like Nawaz or Imran will overtake us. God bless us.
If he has done all that he has been accussed of, than may he rot in the fire of hell, alongwith all others of his kind, to whichever party they may belong or are in the civil or khaki bureaucracy.
Those nations, whose youth die in mosquito biting, their old age, inefficient n corrupt rulers go abroad for their minor medical check up on poor public expenditure. Long live Pakistan.
