The Islamabad Police on Saturday arrested 25 suspects during search operation in various localities in the precincts of Sabzimandi and Aabpara police stations, a spokesman said.
He said search operations were conducted in the slums and under-construction buildings. He said the suspects were arrested as they could not produce any document for their identification.
The spokesman said the action was taken on the directives of Islamabad IGP Bani Amin Khan and SSP Muhammad Yousuf Malik to ensure strict monitoring and vigilance.
In a statement, the IGP said some tenants might succeed to hire some houses without delivering accurate information. He directed the station house officers to check the data of all the people during search operations.
He said the locals should be engaged during the exercise to ensure success against the suspected elements.]
Meanwhile, the Islamabad Police apprehended five outlaws from various areas of the city and recovered one stolen Suzuki pickup, a motorbike, 12 bottles of liquor, weapons and looted items worth million of rupees from their possession.
