American businessman of Pakistani origin, Mansoor Ijaz has come out with new claims regarding the controversial memo, saying the plan to send the memo was made by President Asif Ali Zardari. In a telephonic interview with a TV channel, Ijaz claimed that Zardari had given complete authority to former ambassador to US, Husain Haqqani to handle the memo. The man at the centre of the controversy in Pakistan went a step further claiming that both President Zardari and former Ambassador Haqqani had prior information about the US raid in Abbottabad to eliminate Osama Bin Laden.
White House denies: However, in a late night statement, the White House denied that President Zardari and Haqqani knew in advance about the raid, saying the operation was too sensitive to be shared with Pakistan.
Ijaz also accepted his involvement in back-channel diplomacy, particularly between the governments of Pakistan and India on Kashmir and nuclear proliferation. He claimed this in his article due to be published on December 5 in a US magazine. Ijaz has also provided an analysis about the recent infamous memo controversy in his article and said Haqqani had tried other interlocutors to deliver the memo to Admiral Mike Mullen and had been refused.

    • Liaquat Sahib, Mansoor is just American muslim and not a pakistani. The touts are in Islamabad. Wake before they sold you and your next generation.

      • Mansoor Ijaz is not a muslim. He is Qadiani American and a sworn enemy of Pakistan. We must not fall in this trap set by our enemies.

    • A greater probability is Pakistanis' are shooting their own foot.

Knowing America as little as I do, I can say with enough confidence that the much discussed memo does not worth a penny to even a janitor here (in America), not to mention any high government official.

  1. Hahaha! Just further goes to show that what a ludicrous/laughable, yet utterly sad, mess that our entire establishment (both the military & civilian) have led us into RIGHT AFTER the events of 9/11…although it’s imperative that it be made clear that there’s absolutely no concrete evidence showing that it was actually “Osama” who was “killed” in that infamous raid! 🙂

  2. On one hand we have Mr. 10 % , second richest man in Pakistan and probably the most corrupt with over a billion dollars in his accounts .
On the other we have a treacherous businessman who on many occasions said that Pakistans nuclear assets should be secured by the west and that ISI should be declared a terrorist organization .
This story keeps getting more interesting with every passing day .

  3. It is unanimously agreed that Mansoor Ijaz is not trustworthy. He is an enemy of Pakistan being used by Americans to create chaos in Pakistan. Those giving publicity to whatever Mansoor Ijaz says are only falling into the American trap. Some politicians are trying to take advantage of his malicious campaign for their personal gain. There may be some who are naive and innocently give him publicity. Of course, the media loves such juicy material. We waited for a long time to see free media in our motherland. Unfortunately, as of now, it has not turned out to be a blessing. It is becoming more of a curse because of our highly paid Anchors and the way News Bulletins are worded.
May Allah save our homeland though Holy Quran clearly tells us that Allah does not help any nation until it helps itself.

  4. Although an enemy, this dude is doing us a favor our present govt could not do… helping us get rid of Zerdari 🙂

  5. even if i buy this statement zardari sold the nation ,where were pakistan army and isi by the time us had raid in abbottabad and the salala incident.

  6. Whatever the truth about the controversial memo Mr. Mansoor Ijaz is a winner. He got what he wanted——————confusion in Pakistatn and self publicity.

  7. every one need to shut one's mouth and wait for the findings /decision of the Supreme court of Pakistan.Rumors and predictions are benefiting Mr Mansoor Ijaz, Media and the enemies of Pakistan.

    • Mr Aslam, you are right. Everybody should shut up before any concrete findings of the inquiry. However, I differ on who should hold inquiry. It is the exclusive prerogative of either Parliament or Executive. Judiciary has no authority to invade domain of other Constitutional pillars. So, Chaudhry Court should not interfere in this matter and welcome this opportunity to settle its own political vendetta against a particular political party and at the same time also to go out of the way to favour a Punjab based political party which helped him get his job and perks back. It may also be mentioned that the party which supported him did not do so for any love of independent judiciary. It was only political expediency. Otherwise, they are the ones who stormed Supreme Court when Justice Sajjad Ali Shah tried to hear cases in which damning documentary evidence is available against the accused.

  8. This was not Zardari's idea. This was a US idea. He just followed the Master like an obedient servant. Asked Hussain Haqqani to draft one and send the Memo to Mullen as he wants and as conveyed to us by American non-emissary Mansoor Ijaz. The theme of Script was dismantle ISI, weaken Pakistan Army and have a control on Nukes. Mansoor Ijaz spilled the beans as promises made to him were not fulfilled. Hussain Haqqani is of that type for which an American official said – Pakistanis can sell their …….. for …..$. HH did this service "free" if considered to be made caretaker PM or security council chief. ALL are LOSERS in this MEMO Game.

  9. Well, there we have it. The accusation is out in black and white for all to read. Treason seems to be in fashion with Islamabad's elite

  10. When Government did not announced any commission on Memo Gate Issue then Supreme Court did good in the interest of the Country.
