CSB recommends 150 bureaucrats for promotion to grade 20

ISLAMABAD – The Central Selection Board (CSB) on Saturday recommended the names of 150 bureaucrats for promotion to grade 20 while 50 officers have already been promoted to grade 21.
Federal Public Services Commission Chairman Justice (r) Rana Bhagwandas headed the CSB meeting to review the performance of civil servants in a ten-hour long session. A source said the Inland Revenue Service (IRS) stood first with 70 of its officers recommended for promotion to grade 20 according to the officials of the Establishment Division.
The board considered 51 DMG officers for promotion to grade 20 of the available pool of 79 in the Secretariat Group. The Police Service of Pakistan got 20 promotions in grade 20. As many as 20 officers of IRS were promoted to grade 21. Five officers of the Customs Group were promoted to grade 21, said the source.
According to sources, the names of around 15 officers of the Police Service of Pakistan were recommended for grade 20. The summary of names of the officers recommended for promotion will be forwarded to Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani within a few days, Cabinet Division Secretary Chaudhry Rauf said.
