AIOU working for socio-economic revolution

Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) yearns to bring socio-economic revolution in far-flung areas of the country by assembling and utilizing the sources of different national institutions. These views were expressed by Allama Iqbal Open University’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Nazir Ahmed Sangi, during a meeting with Institute of Space Technology’s Vice-Chancellor, Imram Rehman.
Dr. Sangi said that with literacy reference, AIOU has distributed the country into three parts that included backward, middle class and privileged classes and in view of these divisions, job oriented courses according to needs at the level of Matric and Intermediate are being prepared. He said that AIOU has initiated some mega projects to increase the literacy rate. During the discussion, Imram Rehman appreciated the initiatives of Dr. Sangi for socio-economic uplifting and spreading knowledge across the country, particularly in remote areas. He said that Institute of Space Technology can provide its satellite facilities to Allama Iqbal Open University for countrywide activities and in this connection a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), can also be signed with AIOU. Alongside Dr. Sangi, he visited Radio/TV studios, Center for Instructional Design (CID) and the Science Complex of the University.
Separately, Dr. Nazir Ahmed Sangi, while addressing the participants of the welcome function held in the honor of newly elected members of the Executive Council (Governing Body) of the University, said, “Improvement in education is our first priority. We should be united for spreading knowledge and should put in our efforts towards national integration.
