30 arrested in search operation

The Bhara Kau Police on Monday arrested 30 suspects during search operation in various areas of Islamabad, including under construction buildings and houses, slum areas and new localities. Following the directions of Inspector General of Police (IGP), Bani Amin Khan and Senior Superintended of Police (SSP), Muhammad Yousuf Malik, search operations had been initiated, that included checking inns, hotels, restaurants and Afghan habitats. A police spokesman said that these measures are being taken to ensure foolproof security on the eve of Muharram ul Haram and to keep a vigilant eye any suspected elements. According to sources, SP (City) Muhamamd Ilyas directed Station House Officer Bhara Kau police station Inspector Muhammad Mehboob to conduct search operations in the areas. Special teams headed by him, included ASI Muhammad Arif and other police officials. During search operations conducted in Madina town, Kot Hathya, Kiani road, Seeri Chowk and other under-construction areas, 30 suspects were arrested. These nabbed persons could not produce any authentic documented proof of their identities after which police initiated further investigations. Police commandos including women police, are also participating in search operations in various areas of the city while sniffer dogs are also being used in some areas. These search operations would continue in the coming days and complete combing would be made of sensitive areas. Meanwhile the capital police arrested 21 outlaws including five women and recovered 2.5 kilogram hashish, 500 gram heroin, six wine bottles and seven pistols from their possession.
