Pakistan Rangers arrested over 80 suspects during raids in different areas of the city on Friday and recovered weapons from their possession.
These areas included Jamshed Road, Rizvia, Korangi, Gulshan-e-Hadeed, Orangi Town, Patel Para and Malir.
The raids were conducted to avert criminal activities during Muharram.
Separately, a man, Ghulamuddin, was killed by unidentified people in the Baghdadi area of Nazimabad.
In another incident, a man was shot dead while resisting a cell phone snatching attempt by unidentified men on a motorcycle. Another man was killed in a similar case in North Karachi. The identity of the two men could not be ascertained till this report was filed.
