The Supporters of The Citizens Foundation (STCF) held a charity auction on Wednesday evening, to raise funds for the education of underprivileged children across TCF schools in Pakistan. The fun-filled evening, attended by some 200 ladies, was charged with enthusiasm to support and help raise funds for the schools run by TCF. The women-only auction which was preceded by a hi-tea was held in an STCF member’s residence in DHA. Like all previous similar events organised by the STCF, the theme of this event was ‘festivities and colours’ and saw visitors draped in colourful and lively dresses. The auction items included calligraphy pieces in oil, coffee tables, paintings, miniature art, antique furniture, consoles, carpets, vouchers for makeovers and return ticket to Dubai. Host Nilofar Saeed, chairperson of the STCF, charmed the audience with her lively wit and charm, whereas Bushra Afzal, vice chairperson of the STCF, entertained the audience by her apt description of various political figures. As the evening proceeded, ghazal singer Raheel enchanted the audience with her soulful voice. With table and sitar playing in the background, she sang some of the famous ghazals of Iqbal Bano and Mehdi Hasan and truly lit up the evening. One of the visitor at the event said the evening was a team effort and the fact that it turned out to be a successful one ensures a complete support in future too. The money raised from the event will go to TCF for educating children and building more schools. The STCF is a group which organises fundraising events, auctions and high-teas to raise funds for the cause. It is worth noting that an amount of Rs 10,000 supports the yearly educational expenses of a child enrolled in a TCF school.
