Leader of the opposition in National Assembly, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has expressed his great chagrin over the failure of debating the issue of secret memo in assembly.
Addressing the House during point-of-order on Thursday, he was also critical of the fact that, (comparatively) Army brass was accorded a more impressive welcome, after its arrival at Aiwan-e-Sadr (President House) on Thursday for briefings over the issue; while even Hussain Haqqani was forced to resign by rulers, only over their (Army) pressure.
He demanded that the House should be taken into confidence by PM and defense minister, over the mystery, that (while) it was understood that ambassador to USA had been removed, yet he still wanted to go back to America; but was being restrained of (direct/indirect) restrictions by certain quarters over his movements.
He defended PML-N’s petition in Supreme Court as due to weak stance of incumbents regarding the issue, while he also criticized government for rendering the supremacy of Parliament as ineffective.
“My question is that if the ambassador has indeed resigned his post, than it is quite a serious issue”, he expressed, adding that if an ambassador to USA was involved, involvement of rulers could simply not be ruled out.
Chaudhry Nisar said that PML-N wanted answers to all its reservations right now, and also expressed his strong resentment at the fact that all important National issues had been limited to discretion and knowledge of President, PM, COAS and DG-ISI, sidelining other legal and superior institutions.

  1. Parliament is a proven rubber stamp. Better quit, Nisar Sahib! What was the result of previous debates and resolutions? Or you are missing a chance to make fiery speech?
