Seeming like a beauty contest of vehicles, the classic car and bike show at Racecourse Park attracted a large number of car and bike lovers on Wednesday. More than 50 classic cars and around 40 bikes from Karachi and Lahore were put on show by their owners as part of the “Annual Classic Car Rally Karachi to Islamabad”. The Pakistan Bikers Community also put their share in the show by arranging a good collection of rare and beautiful bikes. The cars had left from Karachi on Friday and reached Lahore on Sunday to participate in the show for three days.
Starting from Tuesday, the show concluded on Wednesday and cars left for the federal capital where they would show up in F9 Park today (Thursday). After Islamabad, the caravan of classic vehicles would leave for Bhurban where it would conclude.
Originally from Karachi, 20 car owners were participating in the rally, which was joined by almost similar number of cars in Lahore. A good number of classic cars from Islamabad was also expected to join the rally. According to organisers of the rally and show, the aim of arranging such shows was to create awareness among the younger generation about classic car models and encourage their owners who had kept them with great care. Car lovers in Lahore called the event a great success and said that it was a really enjoyable event with fantastic cars and their passionate owners.
