The annual religious congregation at Raiwind started on Thursday, as droves from all over the country kept pouring in to attend the biggest gathering of Muslims in Pakistan. The three-day congregation started early with morning prayers and sermons highlighting the Islamic teachings.
Tight security arrangements were evident at the gathering, and the City Traffic Police was seen enforcing its special traffic plan developed for the occasion.
Three superintendents of police, 14 deputy superintendents of police, 45 inspectors and 1,160 wardens have been deputed for traffic arrangements while seven lifters and four breakdown vehicles were also commissioned.
