Pakistan’s ambassador to US, Hussain Haqqani has said that President Asif Ali Zardari will make a decision about his (Haqqani) future.
Speaking in a TV programme on Thursday, he said that he offered his resignation to send a message to those trying for destabilising democracy.
Haqqani said he had neither written a memo nor he delivered any letter, adding that he had only met Mansoor Ijaz a few times.
“The memo was just an excuse and democracy was the real target” Haqqani said.
The ambassador added that democracy and Pakistan were dear to him and he would be coming to country in the next few days.
Earlier, Haqqani had written a letter to President Zardari and offered to resign from his post over the issue of a memo, which was reportedly sent to Mike Mullen.
Mansoor Ijaz alleged in a column in “Financial Times” last month that a senior Pakistani diplomat has asked for assistance in getting a memo from Zardari to Admiral Mike Mullen.

  1. Every time something goes in Pakistan, the army always blames the civilian govt. We are so stupid to realize that while we have one Mr 10% in civilian govt, the Pakistani army has many Mr 20%s in their higher ranks.
