KARACHI – Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry on Thursday said judiciary was the most important pillar of the country. Addressing judicial officers of all districts and special courts of Karachi at the Sindh High Court premises, the CJP said,
“In the last one year, the judges of the Singh High Court and district judiciary have taken responsibility to discharge their duty to the best of their ability.”
The chief justice observed that coming to the court was not the only duty of the judges. Their most important duty was to provide justice to the needy.
“The increase in the disposal of cases shows the performance of the courts, however, there is always room for improvement,” he added. He said though there were still complaints against the judiciary, the number was on the decline.
