Police recovered an abducted newborn during a raid conducted in Malir on Sunday. The infant had gone missing from the National Institute of Child Health (NICH) a couple of days before Eidul Azha.
The law enforcers recovered the child and arrested a couple from a house in Model Colony. Police also arrested a trainee nurse for selling the baby to the couple for Rs 30,000.
The media was informed that Sobia, a third-year nursing student and a trainee nurse at the NICH, had sold the child to Akbar Awan and his wife Farzana Awan before Eid. Police arrested the couple and the trainee nurse on Sunday, following which the newborn was handed over to its parents.
