Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani Saturday challenging the rival political parties to try their utmost to topple the government, said his party believes in democracy and no force can topple the government.
Talking to journalists on the occasion of formal inauguration of the commercial operation of Pakistan’s second communication satellite Paksat-1R in Lahore PM said we challenge the rival political parties to try their utmost to topple the government adding, ‘We are primed for that.’
PM Gilani said all the parties are desirous of opposition though they are in the government.
He urged the rivals not to say anything which may offend anyone.
He said diplomatic channels were being utilised to normalise Pak-US ties and added that drone attacks were not being conducted with government’s will.
He said he supported the demand for south Punjab as an independent province in accordance with the wishes of the people. The second objective behind the decision was that the province was too big to be controlled by one president.
He said Nawaz Sharif also supported new province in Punjab and the name of new province was not a big issue. He said leaders of Pakistan Peoples’ Party have declared their property assets.
On a query, the prime minister said giving India MFN status was taken in wrong perception, adding that the government wants trade with India as with other nations in the world and chambers of both countries working regarding it.

Meanwhile, Paksat-1R was launched on August 12 from Xichang Satellite Launch Centre of China.
He said this achievement was a milestone in country’s space development programme.
He said this project reflects four-season and friendly relationship with brotherly country China, adding that both countries would continue cooperation with each other.
He said the government would provide every possible sources to SPARCO to enhance space technology.
He said space technology should be used to improve life of a common man specially in remote areas of the country and added that this technology could help in agriculture and aggregation system.

  1. The Opposition should wait for on-time elections in 2013. There is no need to create unnecessary problems. The Government should be given an opportunity to deliver.

  2. We are in favour of the elected Government, but the problem is that Government has failed to deliver. For example our Digital Telephone Exchange Kashmiri Bazar Murree was installed 16 years ago.In the present Government Period the corrupt DE/SDO PTCL Murree has closed Telephone Exchange on 29-7-2011 and deprived 350 Subscribers from Phone,Fax and Internet Facility.See how nicely the Present Government is delivering.PM Galini is requested to fix this problem. http://www.savepakistanmovement.org

    • Why waste lodging a request appeal to people who never did, nor will ever, care about the woes of the people. The current government is the most corrupt in Pakistan`s history. If only people had the common sense not to vote for them due to their sympathy on Benazir`s death. This is what sympathy in politics leads you to. Be rational and vote.

  3. The only way to get rid of this mess is to get rid of the PPP government. The old PPP is lost forever and there can be no revival. People need to wake up and revolt against the corrupt system. These politicians in power will kill this nation if they are allowed to rule further. It is the people of Pakistan who vote these people into office. Then they cry for the entire tenure of their so called "elected" government, since these people bury them alive.

  4. The majority of 178 Million are the force who have NO more any TOLERANCE FOR CORRUPTION. This force is the will of the people, who have decided it is time to punish those responsible for robbing this country. These corrupt rulers are responsible for the death of hundreds of thousands. They should be hanged for these crimes. Men like Gillani should be ashamed.
