SHC lawyer among six murdered

A Sindh High Court (SHC) lawyer and five others were killed in separate incidents across Karachi on Tuesday. SHC lawyer Abdul Waheedul Rehman was shot dead by unidentified culprits at Tariq Road. Police shifted Rehman’s body to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC).
Similarly, unidentified culprits gunned down Haji Usman near the Urdu Science College in Aziz Bhatti police precincts. Police shifted Usman’s body to the JPMC. In another incident, Farooq Khan suffered bullet wounds at the hands of unidentified culprits in Sohrab Goth. Khan succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital.
In yet another incident, unidentified culprits shot dead a man near the cattle market in Sohrab Goth. The unidentified victim had arrived in the city from Punjab to sell his sacrificial animals. Witnesses said several groups had been bothering the victim for extortion money, refusing which he was gunned down. The body was shifted to the JPMC.
Another unidentified man was killed in Manghopir by the firing of unidentified culprits. The body was shifted to the JPMC. Separately, a passer-by suffered bullet wounds when a clash occurred between two drug pushing groups in Shanti Nagar. The victim succumbed to his injuries on the way to the hospital.
Moreover, some eight people were wounded in different incidents across the city. The injured were shifted to the JPMC and Civil Hospital Karachi.
ARRESTS: The Crime Investigation Department (CID) has arrested an alleged target killer. CID officials said Raheel alias TT alias Bhora was arrested with weapons. They said the detainee is affiliated with a political party and has admitted killing some 12 people in different parts of the city.
Separately, the Rangers arrested Irfan alias Yamaha for his alleged involvement in the Lyari gang war. In another raid, the Federal Investigation Agency’s Banking Circle arrested Lakshman Das along with his colleagues for their alleged involvement in illegally transferring money to other countries.
