  1. I feel ashamed to read all this.

Gen Musharraf and Shaukat Aziz made a loss making steel mills into the profitable one and decided to privatise it within the laws of privatisation act and with transparency. So that Pakistan Steel Mills doesn’t become a victim of political advantages.

But then two retards, CJ Iftikhar Chaudhry on Gen Abdul Qayum’s petition, went for heroics and screwed everything. Got Gen Musharraf and Shaukat Aziz kicked out.

Now four years later, everyone is saying the same thing.

  2. Yes Government’s decision for sale out Pakistan Steel is good for smooth running work of Pakistan Steel.
Because in every world all department is going fast after the sale the example of PTCL. After the sale out of PTCL, now this department shows many facilities to their customer like Broadband Pakistan Package.

So I suggest that government will sale out Pakistan Steel.

  3. It is beyond the power of Govt. to run Pakistan Steel, Railway, P.I.A etc. so sale out them, what about Pakistan which also running in deficit and beyond to run smoothly by the democracy or by the Martial law. Would the same proposal for the home land? it is a conspiracy of steel importers, those having interest to purchase these industries and belonging to ship braking industry. Officials, some politicians and a big portion of media are supporting them. if PTCL is giving good service to their subscribers than what about KESC? We are losing our assets in the name of privatization. who said that privatization is good thing for the country. you always compare yourself with India, Did India sold out their assets like that. think with your own mind not by the propaganda from a portion of media.

  4. Pakistan country iron and steel consumption is around 6 million ton per year. Pakistan Steel production capacity was capped 1.1 million ton per year due to financial constraint in January 1985. Pakistan Steel Mills lay-out plan is 2-2 million ton per year. Two third (2/3) machinery is already installed, 1/3 is required to install for its completion up to 2.2 million ton per year. This plant have in built production capacity which can be enhanced up to 3 million ton per year as per world renowned UK consultant M/s W.S.Atkin. Pakistan Steel privatization is against the interest of country. It needs ruthless accountability. Pakistan Steel is a victim of corruption, mismanagement and incompetence. Pakistan Steel Mills was in profit from July 2000 to July 2008. Minister Production statement 21000 employees in Pakistan Steel is wrong. There are 16200 employees. 5000 daily wage/contract workers were regularized in September 2010 by the present Government burdening Mills Rs 1 billion per year. Pakistan Steel is profit earning organization. It is regretted to say that Government itself ruined it under the influence of vested interests.

  5. I suggest that Govt. of Pakistan, announced Golden Shake Hand Scheme for Pakistan steel Mills Staff and Officer, All the Staff and workers are waiting for good Pakage.
04 years have gone No increase in Officers Salary. and workers are waiting for charter of Demand.
