Hillary Swank has handed out the redundancy slip to her manager and friend of eight years, Jason Weinberg, whom she accuses for her appearance at president of Chechnya’s 35th birthday bash, which has widely damaged her image.
The Oscar-winning actress had been strongly condemned by rights groups for being a part of the birthday celebrations of Ramzan Kadyrov, who has been indicted for abductions, torture, executions and house burning. Swank, who is with Hollywood’s most powerful talent agency CAA, has reportedly axed two other people on her management team, Arnie Yavor and Josh Lieberman.
A fourth person, Lauren Hale, who works for CAA and travelled with the star to Grozny has also allegedly been fired for her part in the appearance. Swank had reportedly accepted a six-figure sum to make a personal appearance but was left disgraced after she hit the newspaper headlines and has since then asserted she was not fully aware of what the actual event was about.
