14 held, firearms, contrabands seized

The city police claimed on Thursday to have nabbed 14 outlaws from various areas of the city and seized eight kilograms of hashish, three kilograms of opium, 110 bottles of liqour, four pistols and looted items from their possession. According to a press release issued here on Thursday, Aabpara Police Station SHO Inspector Tanveer Abbasi and Sub-Inspector Hakim Khan arrested a “notorious” bootlegger Arif alias Muna Masih from Sector G-7/3 and seized 100 bottles of liquor from him. The statement said that the Bhara Kahu police apprehended Gulshad Masih with 10 bottles while Sabzi Mandi police arrested Junaid who was carrying a 30-bore pistol. Meanwhile, it said, the Tarnol area policemen named Fazal ur Rehman and Ghulam Shabbir arrested two women, later identified as, Irshad Bibi and Zareena Bibi with eight kilograms of hashish and three kilograms of opium respectively.
