Teachers and students at the Karachi University (KU) protested against the honorary PhD degree awarded to Interior Minister Rehman Malik, a private news channel reported on Wednesday.
Teachers boycotted classes for two hours and the students joined the protest as well.
KU Teachers’ Association General Secretary Sakaeel Farooq said that the protest would continue until the cancellation of the PhD degree awarded to Rehman Malik.
It is the Chancellor and Vice Chancellor of Karachi University who are responsible and not Rahman Malik. Afterall if you offer a free degree to a man who cannot qualify on merit to get even a BA degree and than has a known controversial background and conviction for irregularities, it is the university admin which should be blamed.
However, the process of our moral degrading merely be half way through. I would not be surprised if this man is nominated by Pakistan for the slot of UN Secretary General at some point in the future. Good for you Dr. Malik.
I think nobody is to be blamed for something or anything in this godforsaken country.
