An 11-year-old boy has been allegedly molested by some close relative in Sector-G/8 but the family of the victim seems reluctant to report the matter to the police, Pakistan Today leaned on Tuesday.
The family of 11-year-old, Shahroon, brought him to the Polyclinic Hospital for a medical check-up where the administration of the hospital told them to take the kid to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences instead. A source in the Polyclinic Hospital told this scribe that the victim family had said they were residents of Musharraf Colony in Sector-G/8 and that their boy had been molested by a close relative on Monday.
When this scribe contacted the police station concerned, the officer on duty told him that the family had left the PIMS too without seeking any medical assistance. The Margalla Police Station SHO said he had immediately sent a police officer to the PIMS for an enquiry into the matter. Later on, the officer concerned, Sub Inspector Falak Sher, told Pakistan Today that he had met the family at the PIMS but the father of the victim boy was reluctant to get any medical assistance or report the incident to police.
“It will be premature to say anything about the case since the victim family is not cooperating with the police. It seems the family has been trying to implicate someone under the molestation charges by getting a medical report of their choice. And now when matter has attracted the media’s attention, they (the family) are opting to keep the matter secret”, speculated SI Sher.
