Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Babar Awan on Sunday criticised the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)-led Punjab government, saying there was ‘Sharifs raj’ during daytime and ‘dacoit raj’ at night in the province. Addressing a public gathering, the former law minister said the provincial government was doing nothing to provide security to the people. He said PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif had an old habit to flee from the country in difficult times, adding that whenever the country faces martial law, floods and dengue, Nawaz leaves the country. He said that in contrast PPP founder Zulfikar Ali Bhutto had never left his people and went to the gallows rather than leaving the country. He called the Sharif brothers “paper lions”, who were sitting in cosy offices and residing in palaces. He said the PML-N was using government resources and machinery to make its October 28 rally a success. He claimed that the PPP would win the next elections and form government in Punjab.
