The city police claimed to have arrested 14 accused for their alleged involvement in various crimes and recovered a stolen car, a motorbike, 2 kg opium, 25 bottles of liquor, three illegal pistols and other looted items worth Rs 1.2 million from them, a police spokesman said on Sunday. According to details, Inspector General of Police Bani Amin Khan and SSP Muhammad Yousuf Malik directed the police officers to apprehend criminal elements. As many as 14 criminals have been apprehended by the police while taking swift action on the directives of the high-ups.
Sharing details of the arrested accused, the spokesman said that Kohsar police caught red handed an accused, Muhammad Ismail, when he was attempting to lift a motorbike from Sector F/6. In another strike, Kohsar police arrested Yasir Mahmood and recovered looted money of Rs 40,000 from him. Meanwhile, the CIA police arrested three accused for their alleged involvement in diesel stealth. The accused were identified as Muhammad Pervaiz, Muhammad Munir and Yameen. The police also recovered stolen diesel worth Rs 600,000 from them. Aabpara police arrested a thief. Sub Inspector Shafqat Mahmood of Sabzimandi police station, during routine patrolling, arrested Wazir Ahmed and recovered 1.8 kg of charas from him. Margalla police recovered 25 bottles of liquor from a bootlegger, identified as Adil Masih, while Kohsar police recovered 210 grams of charas from an accused and Abpara police recovered 105 grams of heroin from one Inderyas Masieh.
Similarly, Tarnol police arrested a nefarious drug dealer, Safarish, and recovered 500 grams of heroin from him. Moreover, Koral police, in three separate strikes, arrested three accused and recovered three illegal pistols from their possessions.
