Addiseo and Guard Group won their respective matches in the Inaugural Polo Cup that saddled off here at the Lahore Polo Club Ground.
Hataf managed one goal against Addiseo who fired five goals through Sameer Habib Oberoi, Mudassar Niazi and Abdul Haye Mehta while the only goal of the losers came from Danyal Hashmi.
Guard Group beat Lahore Chatkhara by its one-and-half goal handicap advantage after both were equal in goals (eight each). Guard Group won by 9 ½ to 8 goals margin. It was the fight between the losing team’s start Shah Shamyl Alam and the winner’s Babar Monnoo who shared five goals each. Taimur Ali Malik and Dr Faisal Khokhar were the other scorers. The matches were supervised by Usman Haye, Ahsan Khan and Omar Asjad Malhi.
Earlier, the polo season started with the Inaugural Cup with wins coming for Hira Valves and Newage.
Hira Valves beat Olympia 8-5 and Newage defeated Lancers 5-4.
Hamza Mawaz Khan and Samee Ibrahim were the stars of Hira Valves win while Omar Asjad Malhi did well from the losing side. Junaid Ahmed Khan did well for Newage with support from Kasim Ahmed Khan and Diaum Ahsan Butt while Olympia fought through Hussain Iftikhar, Ahsan Khan and Ghulam Mustafa Monnoo. Umpires for the matches were Hassan Ali Farrukh, Dr. Faisal Khokhar, Shah Shamyl Alam and Taimur Ali Malik.
