Lahore High Court Chief Justice Ijaz Ahmad Chaudhary Monday reserved decision on the petition filed by Zakiur Rahman Lakhvi, activist of the banned outfit Lashkare Tayyaba, seeking transfer of the Mumbai attacks case hearing from the Rawalpindi Anti-terrorism Court, to Lahore.
The petition was moved through Senior Jurist Khawaja Sultan, inter alia, aggrieving that the petitioner did not expect fair trail by the Special Court in Rawalpindi, as it was in close vicinity to Islamabad, hence was vulnerable to influence by the federal government. He added that there was a threat to his life if the case was heard by the trial court in Rawalpindi.
