Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain on Sunday said that some politicians wanted to dissolve the Punjab Assembly and that in case of dissolution his party would contest elections from all provincial constituencies.
Addressing party workers in Punjab through telephone, the MQM chief said a conspiracy was being hatched to get the assemblies dissolved and go for snap polls to inflict defeat on the MQM. “But the MQM will contest from across the country in the next elections,” he announced. Altaf said Pakistan was facing external threats and that his party would “protect the country by joining the armed forces and foiling these conspiracies”.
