Dengue kills 3 more as CM announces compensation

Another three people have fallen prey to the deadly dengue fever in the provincial capital on Saturday. More than 300 new patients were diagnosed with dengue in the city. According to details, two more dengue patients – Asad, 62, and Khadija, 22, died on Saturday in Lahore’s Mayo Hospital.
Another patient Asif, 29, died in Sheikh Zayed Hospital, raising the death toll in Punjab to 227 out of which 205 belonged to Lahore alone. Official statistics revealed that 14,470 cases of dengue have been reported to date. However, independent sources said the number was higher than reported as the disease had spread to other areas of the province. The patients from other cities were coming to hospitals in Lahore.
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif announced a compensation of Rs 500,000 for the families of dengue victims, NNI reported.Presiding over a meeting in Lahore on Saturday‚ he said a comprehensive policy was being implemented to control the spread of dengue virus.

  1. Police and Dengue: I don’t get it. Better keep them away as they will let the mosquitoes do their business with muk-muka or beat the hell out of them.

  2. 50,0000 does not compensate with people who lost their important one's. we should have to get rid of dengue.
