Court postpones framing charges in Haj scam case

RAWALPINDI – A court of a special judge on Saturday could not frame charges against an accused of the Haj scam due to the absence of accused former Haj director general Rao Shakeel Ahmed. The hearing of the case was held in the court of Special Judge Central Syed Ahmed Akhlaq Ahmed Shah. Rao Shakeel Ahmad was in Lahore and could not appear in court due to illness.
The court did not frame charges against the accused as it was informed that Rao Shakeel Ahmed could not be appear in court. The judge adjourned the hearing until October 25. During the hearing, former federal minister for religious affairs Hamid Saeed Kazmi and former joint secretary Aftabul Islam also appeared before the judge.
